As per the Ministry of Manpower, the minimum wage for drivers in Egypt is 7,500 EGP per month as of January 2026. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate after 8 hours daily. This applies to all commercial driving roles including taxis and trucks.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants need a valid Egyptian commercial driving license Class B or C plus at least 3 years of documented driving experience. No formal education beyond basic literacy is mandated but a clean traffic record from the last 5 years is mandatory.
