Security Officer

As per the Ministry of Manpower, the minimum wage for security guards in Egypt is EGP 8,200 per month as of January 2026. Security guards receive an additional EGP 25 per hour for overtime beyond 8 hours daily. Night shifts from 10 PM to 6 AM include a mandatory 15% allowance on base pay.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants for security guard roles must hold at least a preparatory school certificate and complete a 40-hour certified training course. Prior experience of 12 months in a similar role is mandatory for licensed positions starting January 2026.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants must submit a national ID copy, birth certificate, medical fitness certificate from a government hospital, and the original training completion certificate. All documents require submission through the official manpower office portal by the 15th of each month.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, security guards work a maximum of 8 hours per day or 48 hours per week with at least one rest day. Employees receive 21 days of paid annual leave after the first year plus 7 days of sick leave annually starting 2026.
