The Comisión Nacional de los Salarios Mínimos sets the general minimum wage at 312.41 MXN per day for cleaning staff roles in Mexico effective January 1 2026. This applies to an 8-hour shift with overtime paid at double rate after 9 hours. Employers in border zones must pay 374.89 MXN per day under the same rules.
Q How many hours per week can cleaning staff legally work in Mexico without exceeding limits?
Under the Federal Labor Law enforced by the Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social, cleaning staff may work a maximum of 48 hours per week in 2026. Any hours beyond 48 require triple pay and written authorization. Workers receive at least one full rest day per week plus 15 days of paid annual leave after one year.
Q What documents are required to apply for cleaning staff positions through official Mexican government channels in 2026?
