General Helper & Welding Apprentice – Mon–Fri

The Comisión Nacional de los Salarios Mínimos sets the general minimum wage at MXN 312.41 per day for all occupations including electricians in the general zone as of 1 January 2026. Electricians working overtime must receive double pay for the first nine hours and triple thereafter under the Ley Federal del Trabajo. This rate applies uniformly without separate electrician brackets.

Foreign electricians must obtain a temporary resident visa with work authorization from the Instituto Nacional de Migración before starting employment. Required documents include a valid passport, job offer letter, and proof of professional qualifications submitted via the e-Visa platform with fees of MXN 4,592 for the permit. Processing takes 30 to 45 business days with approval required prior to entry.

Applicants need a minimum of secundaria completed plus a técnico certificate in electricity from a CONOCER-accredited institution or SEP-recognized program. Two years of supervised experience documented in a libreta de trabajo is required before independent work. No national license exists but local municipalities may require registration with the Dirección de Obras Públicas.

Applications require a CURP, RFC from SAT, proof of address, and the técnico certificate uploaded to the Portal del Empleo operated by the Servicio Nacional de Empleo. A medical certificate from IMSS-affiliated clinics dated within 30 days and a criminal record certificate from the Fiscalía are mandatory. All documents must be presented in original and copy at the interview stage.
