Job Description
About Our GroupWe are a dynamic engineering team at the Seagate Korat Slider Factory, driving innovation in process and tooling development to support next-generation storage products. We are looking for a passionate and skilled engineer to lead simulation-driven design and development of equipment tooling and process solutions, including both cleaning and mechanical systems tailored for new, optimized form factor products. This role is critical in ensuring mechanical robustness, surface quality, cleanliness performance, and equipment readiness to meet the stringent demands of next-gen manufacturing.About The Role - You WillLead the design and development of cleaning processes and equipment tooling specifically tailored for handling and processing miniaturized or new form factor components.Define requirements and methods for both cleaning (e.g., ultrasonic, brush, chemical, DI water) ensuring compatibility with product design and contamination control standards.Utilize simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics to model mechanical behavior, fluid dynamics, and process interactions for tooling and cleaning system optimization.Collaborate with suppliers and internal equipment development teams to design, prototype, and refine tooling and equipment platforms that support evolving product architectures.Validate cleaning performance through DOE, surface analysis, and particle/contamination testing using techniques like optical, AFM and SEM inspection.Conduct root cause analysis and implement improvements for cleaning-related defects or process instability.Document process specifications, operating procedures, and qualification protocols for cross-functional alignment.About YouBachelor’s or Higher degree in Mechanical, Chemical or a related Engineering discipline.Strong knowledge of cleaning process fundamentals, contamination control, and mechanical tooling design.Experience in high-precision or high-purity manufacturing environments (e.g., semiconductor, hard disk, electronics).Proficient in CAD tools for tooling design (e.g., SolidWorks) and experienced with COMSOL Multiphysics for mechanical and process simulations, including cleaning systems and other equipment platforms.Familiarity with fluid dynamics, brushing, ultrasonic cleaning, chemical compatibility, and surface preparation techniques.Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills using data-driven approaches.Capable of leading projects independently and collaborating across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.Effective in communicating technical details and driving project milestones.Your Experience IncludesHands-on experience with cleaning systems and tooling for miniature or fragile components.Familiarity with surface cleanliness metrology tools and statistical process control.Location:Korat, ThailandOur Korat facility is our largest manufacturing site worldwide, with more than 10,000 employees. Here, our team produces cloud-based storage equipment, from individual storage components to finished drives. Employees enjoy ample on-site parking, free shuttle vans and buses within the city of Korat, as well as transportation to and from Bangkok and Khon Kaen province on weekends. Overtime pay must be at least 1.5 times the hourly rate after 8 hours. This applies to all licensed electrical work under the Labour Protection Act.
Q What work permit documents are required for foreign electricians applying in Thailand in 2026?
Foreign electricians must obtain a work permit from the Ministry of Labour before starting employment, with processing completed within 7 working days upon submission of a valid passport, employer sponsorship letter, and electrical license. The fee is 3,000 THB for permits valid up to 1 year. Non-compliance results in fines of 10,000 THB or deportation.
Q What education and experience are required to qualify as an electrician in Thailand?
Applicants need at minimum a vocational certificate in electrical engineering from an accredited institute plus 2 years of documented experience for Class 2 licensing. Class 1 licensing requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 3 years of experience. All qualifications must be verified by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare before 2026 applications.
Q How do job seekers apply for electrician positions through official Thai government channels in 2026?
