Job description

As a carpenter, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing various wooden structures and fixtures throughout our property. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
• Perform preventive and corrective carpentry maintenance in guest rooms, public areas, and heart-of-the-house
• Repair, fabricate, and install wooden furniture, doors, cabinets, wardrobes, shelving, and fixtures
• Carry out polishing, finishing, and touch-up works to maintain the hotel’s aesthetic standards
• Inspect carpentry works and report defects or safety concerns to the engineering supervisor
• Follow Fairmont brand standards, SOPs, and maintenance schedules
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental policies
• Use tools, machinery, and materials safely and responsibly
• Coordinate with other engineering trades to support hotel operations
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations

Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a carpenter, preferably in a luxury hotel or hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques
• Ability to read basic drawings and take accurate measurements
• Familiarity with safety standards and use of personal protective equipment
• High attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
• Team-oriented with a positive and flexible attitude
• Good communication skills
• Commitment to delivering a luxury guest experience
