Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Finishing Furniture / Joinery Carpenter to produce, assemble, and finish high-quality wooden furniture and joinery items.

The role involves working from technical drawings, cutting and assembling components, and applying finishes to achieve the desired look and durability.

Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and wood-based materials. Create, repair, and install custom furniture, cabinets, doors, windows, and other joinery products. Apply finishes such as sanding, staining, sealing, painting, and varnishing to achieve smooth, durable surfaces. Use a variety of woodworking tools and machinery (planers, routers, saws, sanders, etc.). Ensure accuracy, quality, and safety in all production tasks. Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to meet client requirements. Inspect and repair existing furniture or joinery when required. Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in good condition. Requirements: Proven experience as a Joinery Carpenter or Furniture Finisher. Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, joinery methods, and finishing processes. Ability to work from technical drawings and take accurate measurements. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery. Understanding of various types of wood, veneers, and finishing materials. High attention to detail and craftsmanship. Good physical stamina and manual dexterity. Commitment to workplace safety standards. Preferred Qualifications: Vocational or technical certification in carpentry, joinery, or woodworking. Experience in bespoke furniture making or interior fit-out projects. Knowledge of modern joinery techniques and materials. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and time-management skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good communication and organizational skills. Work Environment: Workshop-based with occasional site installations; may involve lifting, bending, and working with chemicals for finishing.
