Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Captain / Restaurant Supervisor, the Waitstaff are responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience to guests by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and attending to guest needs throughout their meal. They play a vital role in ensuring guest satisfaction through excellent service, prompt response to requests, and a friendly, professional attitude.GUEST INTERACTION & SERVICE Greet guests warmly upon arrival and present menus Provide detailed information about menu items, daily specials, and promotions. Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, inputting them into the POS system Ensure guests are comfortable and respond to their needs, such as additional drinks, food items, or dietary requirements. Identify and take all opportunities to enhance the quality of service Practice high standards of personal presentation in accordance with Brand and Company Grooming & Presentation Standards. FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE Serve food and beverages in a timely, professional manner, ensuring that orders are correct and meet the restaurant’s quality standards. Monitor tables throughout the meal, offering additional drinks, clearing used dishes, and maintaining a clean dining area. Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages and work closely with the bar team for alcoholic drink orders. Recommend dishes, drinks, and promotions to guests based on their preferences and upsell premium items to increase sales. Stay informed about daily specials and any changes to the menu. Provide F&B Table service, serve & clear food and drinks within required timeframes. OPERATIONAL Prepare outlet for service utilizing the opening checklist and as instructed through briefings. Prepare and set tables according to SOPs. Provide a link between the kitchen/bar and service areas, maintaining an open line of communication with kitchen colleagues. Ensure that all orders are correctly entered into the POS system and communicated to the kitchen in a timely manner. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure proper timing and presentation of dishes. Check that all food and beverages meet guest expectations before serving Present bills to guests, accurately process payments and return change or receipts. Handle cash, and credit card transactions, and split bills as needed using the POS system. Balance and reconcile cash at the end of each shift Address any guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are resolved to the guest’s satisfaction. Communicate with the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor if further assistance is needed to resolve complaints Work closely with other waitstaff, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service during peak hours. Assist colleagues during busy periods by helping with tasks such as clearing tables, running food, or taking additional orders and offer assistance to colleagues when required, to ensure designated work goals are met Demonstrate trust, support and respect towards team members in day-to-day work activities Review the notice board and outlet briefing sheets on a daily basis to be well-informed of events, city information, sold-out items, daily specials and any other information that may be relevant to the job. Complete cleaning, opening & closing tasks and other checklists/ forms when instructed by senior colleagues. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of all menu items, Brand Sequence of Service procedures and Company Hygiene Standards. COMPLIANCE TO HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS Follow all health and safety regulations regarding food handling and hygiene. Adhere to restaurant policies, including those related to serving alcohol and verifying guest IDs. Ensure that food allergies and dietary restrictions are communicated clearly to the kitchen.
