And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Logistics Specialists play a vital role in the success of Amazon Web Services by providing the right part, in the right place at the right time. Your contribution to this success would be maintaining the onsite parts room in AWS Data Centres, by managing the custody of computer hardware through their entire lifecycle. This involves receiving parts, safely storing parts, picking and delivering parts to hardware technicians, cycle counts, and shipping faulty hardware back to the vendor.You will work closely with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to ensure reliable functioning and repair activities to support our customers, while adhering to our operational tenants of safety, security and availability.Key job responsibilities Maintaining inventory to ensure that proper stock levels are managed to support build and repair activities. Physically receiving and issuing out of parts as needed for internal customers. Loading, unloading and transporting parts between different sites. Keeping accurate stock records for all items within our care through physical cycle counts. Maintaining the safety, organisation, and cleanliness of all workspaces using Amazon 7S principlesTravel The role may require the successful candidate to travel to other sites in the in the Melbourne metro area to assist in conducting cycle counts, receiving stock into the inventory control system, replenishing stock and returning defective stock. Travel between sites will require own transport, all travel related costs will be reimbursed.Physical / Environmental Demands Amazon Operates with a principle of safety first. The activities below are required with the safety principle applied. Loading and unloading shipments. Standing, sitting, and walking (including stairs) for prolonged periods of time. Willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and kneel. Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance. Push or pull heavy objects of up to 16kg into position and participate in group lifts of 20kg or more. Coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment. Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts. Work in an office and warehouse environment where the noise level is low to moderate.A day in the lifeYour day will be spent carrying out Logistical support functions for our Data Centres.
