As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.Lynas Rare Earths is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician - Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance team at Mt Weld. This role is responsible for troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns and carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability and performance. This is a FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster.As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:Attend and contribute to daily pre-start and pre-shift meetingsTroubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faults and breakdownsPerform planned and corrective maintenance in a safe and timely mannerProvide detailed reporting on maintenance activities and breakdown eventsIdentify and recommend improvements to equipment and processes to enhance reliabilityConduct routine inspections and identify hazards or opportunities for improvementProvide ongoing maintenance support to operationsRemain contactable while on site to respond to breakdowns as requiredParticipate in incident investigations and provide technical expertiseQualificationsWhat you will bring to the team:Mechanical Trade CertificateValid C Class WA Manual Driverโ€™s LicenceW@H, EWP, Forklift, Confined Space, First aid,ExperiencePrevious experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Maintenance Technician within the mining industrySkills & AttributesStrong knowledge of plant mechanical equipment and systemsHigh level of technical competency and attention to detailEffective time management and prioritisation skillsStrong communication and teamwork abilitiesExperience using Pronto (or similar CMMS) is desirableWe welcome and encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the LGBTI+ community, mature workers, as well as candidates with culturally diverse backgrounds.
