Whether you’ve worked as a factory hand, machine operator, production operator, or you’re looking for a fresh start, we’ll provide training and support to help you succeed.What You’ll DoYou’ll help manufacture high-quality timber and metal doors for commercial and residential projects. Your responsibilities include:Key Accountabilities / Primary Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble and weld thin gauge metal components to various specifications as required from relevant detailed drawings MIG and TIG light gauge steel 1.1mm to 3mm – Zincaneal, Galvabond, Mild Steel and Stainless Steel. Grind and clean all steel, polish stainless Steel. Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy, ensuring they meet required standards and structural integrity. Adjust components where necessary using a grinder or other cutting tools. Fit components using jigs. General jobbing work fitting special hardware. Read and understand workshop drawings. Fabrication of profile lengths using bending and cutting machinery. Identify different material types and thicknesses. Conduct quality control checks on own Work. Complete required paperwork. What We’re Looking For Tradesperson or equivalent work experience Welding Experience Work within tolerance; ensure quality in the product. Maintaining production levels as required. Sound written and verbal communication skills. Comply with standards and procedures of Spence Doors following WHS guidelines and wear personal protective equipment. Ability and willingness to follow direction as well as the ability to work independently. Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level and square. Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specification. Must be able to operate sheet metal machinery and welding equipment.
