As the industry’s only integrated drilling services and products provider, we combine engineering excellence, global manufacturing facilities and the most experienced drilling services group in the business.We are currently seeking a Light Vehicle Mechanic to work on both Underground and Surface LV’s, as well as associated equipment and vehicles. We are looking for candidates who are driven, with a strong commitment to Health & Safety, and have a strong team focus.The successful candidates will work an 8:6 or 14:7 Fly-in/Fly-out roster. The position is in Western Australia based at one of our client sites.Want to know a little more about the role? Typical day-to-day tasks include: Maintenance and repairs to Light Vehicles. Maintenance and repairs to Boart Longyear’s Underground ‘LM’ range of Drill Rigs, as well as associated equipment. Completion of Preventative Maintenance tasks and records. Maintaining adequate stock levels of spare parts. Time and maintenance record keeping. Work order creation. Key Responsibilities & Duties Diagnostics & Testing: Using computerized diagnostic equipment to identify faults and test-driving vehicles to confirm repairs. Maintenance & Service: Performing scheduled PM services, oil changes, lubrications, and tuning. Repairs & Replacements: Repairing or replacing worn, damaged, or faulty components like engines, gearboxes, clutches, suspension, steering, and brakes. Safety Inspections: Conducting safety checks, ensuring vehicle compliance with regulations. Documentation: Recording service details, time spent, and parts used. Workshop Maintenance: Keeping tools, equipment, and the work area clean and safe. A Few Other Things We’re Looking For Solid previous experience as a LV Mechanic and background carrying out maintenance and repairs to light vehicles. Knowledge and understanding of electronic control systems. Knowledge of and ability to fault find hydraulic systems. Qualifications in related field i.e. Diesel or Mechanical Fitter certification or Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanics Fire-suppression qualification not essential but highly advantageous. SIBS training not essential but highly advantageous. Current Driver’s License. National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old), or willing to obtain one.
