MIG/TIG Welder Fabricator

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £20/hr Dependent on Experience

An established engineering manufacturer specialising in bespoke sheet metal fabrication and industrial ductwork is looking for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder Fabricator to join its workshop team in Bury.

Working from a modern, purpose-built manufacturing facility, you will produce fully welded ductwork, bespoke fabrications and structural components for demanding industrial environments. The facility includes CNC press brakes, HD plasma cutting, rollers, MIG/TIG welding equipment and automated seam welding technology.

Key Responsibilities
• Carry out MIG and TIG welding on mild steel and stainless steel
• Manufacture fully welded ductwork, structural components and bespoke fabrications
• Work with thin plate materials and heavier structural steel
• Interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications
• Cut, grind, drill, form and prepare materials for welding
• Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy and weld quality
• Work safely while maintaining high workshop and housekeeping standards
• Support production targets and continuous improvement activities

Requirements
• Previous experience as a MIG/TIG Welder, Fabricator or Sheet Metal Worker
• Experience working with mild steel and stainless steel
• Ability to confidently interpret engineering drawings
• Strong fabrication, measuring and finishing skills
• High attention to quality and workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team
• Coded welding qualifications would be advantageous
