Office Boy/ Peon (New Delhi)

As per the Chief Labour Commissioner, the minimum wage for office boy (classified as unskilled office attendant) in Delhi (Zone I) is ₹26,709 per month effective from 1 April 2026, including basic rate of ₹16,000 plus Variable Dearness Allowance of ₹10,709. This applies to establishments covered under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. Employers must pay overtime at twice the ordinary rate for hours exceeding 9 per day.

As per the Ministry of Labour & Employment, candidates must be at least 18 years old with no minimum educational qualification required for unskilled office boy roles under the Code on Wages, 2019. Indian citizenship or valid work authorization is mandatory, and physical fitness is implied for tasks like lifting up to 20 kg. No prior experience is needed for entry-level positions.

As per the Directorate General of Employment, applicants need Aadhaar card, 10th standard marksheet (if available), PAN card, bank passbook, and two passport-size photos for registration on the National Career Service portal. For freshers, a fitness certificate from a government doctor is required. Registration is free and valid for 3 years from date of enrollment as of 2026.

As per the Ministry of Labour & Employment under the Shops and Establishments Acts, office boys work 8 hours per day or 48 hours per week, with 1 weekly off and 12 annual leave days. Employees earning up to ₹21,000 per month are covered under ESIC for medical benefits from day 1. Maternity leave is 26 weeks for women employees.
