Packing Assistant

As per the Delhi Labour Department notification dated 1 April 2026, the minimum wage for unskilled workers in the 'general' scheduled employment, including packing, is Rs. 20,106 per month for a 26-day month. This includes basic wage plus variable dearness allowance of Rs. 5,789. Overtime is paid at twice the ordinary rate for hours beyond 48 per week.

Packing jobs are classified as unskilled labour under NSQF Level 1, requiring no minimum education qualification or prior experience as per Ministry guidelines. Minimum age is 18 years, and workers must pass basic pre-employment medical fitness check in factories. Training is provided on-the-job for 1-3 months.

Registration requires Aadhaar number linked to mobile, one passport-size photo, bank account details with IFSC, and PAN if available. For job interviews in factories, carry original Aadhaar, 10th mark sheet if any, and address proof. Upload scanned copies during online application.

Under the OSH Code 2020 effective 2026, packing workers can work maximum 8 hours/day and 48 hours/week, with overtime at 1.5 times ordinary rate up to 12 hours/week. Annual leave is 15 days after 240 days worked, plus 12 days combined casual and sick leave. Women workers get 26 weeks maternity leave.
