As per the Public Authority for Manpower, the minimum wage for expatriate cleaning staff in the private sector is KD 130 per month effective January 1, 2026. This applies to unskilled roles under the wage scale for Asian nationalities. Overtime pay is 125% of the hourly rate after 48 hours per week.

Foreign applicants require an Article 18 work residence permit sponsored by a Kuwaiti employer, valid for 3 years and renewable once. The employer pays KD 15 issuance fee and KD 10 medical exam fee via PAM. Processing takes 5-10 working days after document submission.

No formal education or prior experience is required for entry-level cleaning staff as per PAM guidelines. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, physically fit, and pass a KD 20 medical fitness test. Kuwaiti nationals under 18 need guardian approval.
