As per the Public Authority for Manpower, the minimum salary for plumbers (occupational group 7411) is 320 KWD per month as of January 2026. This excludes housing allowance of up to 100 KWD and food allowance of 50 KWD provided by employers. Overtime pay is 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 48 per week.

Foreign plumbers require a sponsor-approved Work Residence Visa (Article 18) valid for 3 years, renewable. Application costs 5 KWD processing fee plus 15 KWD for visa stamp and medical exam as of 2026. Sponsor must secure job order approval from PAM before submission.

PAM mandates at least 2 years verifiable plumbing experience for work visa eligibility as of 2026. A vocational trade certificate or high school diploma equivalent is required for skilled plumber classification. Applicants under 21 or over 60 years are ineligible.

Submit passport valid 6+ months, 6 passport-sized photos, attested experience certificates, HIV-negative medical report, and signed employer contract via PAM portal. Processing takes 7-14 working days and costs 10 KWD per applicant as of 2026. Fingerprints and security clearance follow approval.
