Security Guard positions in Al Wakrah

As per the Ministry of Labour, the minimum basic wage for private sector workers including security guards is QAR 1,000 per month as of 2026 under Cabinet Resolution No. 13 of 2016. Employers must provide accommodation allowance of at least QAR 300 or free housing, and food allowance of QAR 300 monthly. Overtime pay is 125% of the normal hourly wage after 48 hours per week.

Foreigners require employer sponsorship for a temporary work visa valid for 2 months, applied through the Ministry of Labour portal. Within 30 days of arrival, the employer must convert it to a renewable residence permit valid for 1-5 years depending on contract. No direct applications by individuals are allowed.

No minimum education is required under Labour Law No. 14 of 2004, but candidates must be at least 21 years old, physically fit, and pass a medical examination from an approved clinic. At least 6 months of relevant experience is needed for work permit approval in the security category. Criminal record clearance from home country is mandatory.

Required documents include a valid passport with 6 months validity, 4 passport-sized photos, medical fitness certificate, police clearance certificate attested by Qatar embassy, and employment contract. The employer submits these via the MOL unified portal for approval within 5 working days. Attestation of home country documents costs QAR 100-200 per document.
