Job Description
Position Title: Packaging Operator (Pace) Reports to: Operations Manager No. of Staff Supervised Direct Reports: Packaging Indirect Reports: Maintenance, personnel Department: Production Production team Location: Qatar Job Objective ï‚· Carryout and coordinate the activities of the Packaging Department including primary and secondary packaging. ï‚· Operate PACE packaging machines (vertical) to package potato chips with Nitrogen flushing. ï‚· The candidate is responsible for the attainment of plant packaging requirements at budgeted cost, while adhering to all quality, safety, human resource and other governmental requirementsï‚· The successful candidate will work with Health and Safety Manager to ensure Quality Assurance. ï‚· Manage packaging whilst following the maintenance, quality and sanitation programs, striving to minimize downtime, and providing a safe working environment, and food safe finished product that meets company, government and environmental criteria. ï‚· The focus will be on continued improvement of the plant in areas such as teamwork, employee involvement and process ownership. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Description Major Tasks, Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities: ï‚· Assure that all Safety, Human Resource, Food Safety and Sanitation requirements and regulations are adhered to. ï‚· Manages resources for the Packaging department ï‚· Coaches and develops Packaging team, ensuring job duties are performed efficiently and effectively through training and education ï‚· Avoids waste in the packaging department. ï‚· Initiate continuous improvement activities through the development of action plans, problem solving, engineering and/or equipment changes, safety, quality, & cost improvement efforts, lean manufacturing, , benchmarking, and all other activities. ï‚· Communicate key findings to Management to help migrate learning's/key findings for cost & efficiency improvements as well as quality improvements. ï‚· Achieve all productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety & motivation ï‚· Achieve all Key Performance Indicators objectives. ï‚· Provide a work environment which adheres to all compliance and regulatory guidelines. ï‚· Foster an environment of continuous improvement that meets or exceeds division expectations. ï‚· Establish clear performance and behavioral expectations for all employees. ï‚· Maintain an effective performance management process reviewing all direct reports’ progress against annual plans and continually develop their effectiveness. ï‚· Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues ï‚· Motivate team members to achieve plan goals ï‚· Lead the identification and elimination of losses resulting in improvements in costs, inventory, time and quality. ï‚· Administer policies and procedures ï‚· Regular and predictable attendance at the work site ï‚· This role requires regular presence on the plant floor ï‚· This role requires lifting up to 20 KG, occasionally ï‚· This role may operate forklift and manufacturing equipment occasionally ï‚· This role may require off-shift and weekend work Performance Indicators ï‚§ Packaging satisfaction rate ï‚§ Packaging Goals ï‚§ Waste ï‚§ Quality of work ï‚§ Health and Safety Rating (internal and external) Communications & Working Relationships Internal: ï‚§ Packaging/Production Personnel ï‚§ Maintenance Team ï‚§ Health and Safety Team ï‚§ Warehouse Team ï‚§ Finance Team ï‚§ Senior Management Team External: ï‚§ Trainers ï‚§ Consultants ï‚§ Vendors ï‚§ Government Agencies ï‚§ Facility Management organizations Other (Frameworks, Boundaries and Decision Making Authority etc.) ï‚§ Key decisions having significant impact on the department are referred to the position in the authority matrix in charge, for approval before implementation. ï‚§ The jobholder exercises financial authority as per the level established by Qatar Cool management and stipulated in the authority matrix.
