Position Summary:

As a Hospital Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, staff, and medical professionals. Working closely with the hospital's security team and internal departments, you will provide a visible security presence, respond to incidents, and uphold all safety policies and procedures.

This role is highly people-focused and requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.

Compensation: $17.90. Part-Time

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Access Control: Monitor and manage entry points, screening patients, visitors, staff, and vendors in accordance with hospital policies.
• Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols to identify safety concerns, security risks, or suspicious activity.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, including medical situations, fire alarms, and hazardous conditions.
• Conflict Resolution: Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage disruptive behavior and resolve conflicts professionally.
• Vigilant Monitoring: Observe and report criminal activity, policy violations, or safety hazards that may threaten people or property.
• Reporting & Documentation: Complete accurate incident reports, logs, and daily activity reports to ensure clear communication and accountability.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with hospital staff, fellow officers, and supervisors to support a cohesive and secure environment.

Qualifications

Education & Experience
• Completed High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications
• Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift, move or lift objects up to 80 lbs., help restrain or lift a person
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet DMAC, a Tarian Company's company driving guidelines if applicable (for Driving Roles).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced. All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
