Yes, a PrDP is mandatory for any person remunerated to drive a motor vehicle on a public road, categorized by code such as EB, EC, or EC1 for heavy vehicles. The PrDP is valid for 5 years and requires a valid driver's licence, eye test, and criminal clearance. Application is made at a Driving Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) with fees starting at R260.
