Introduction

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical Foreman to join our client's team in Howick, KZN

Duties & Responsibilities

Carry out repairs and planned maintenance to all electrical equipment on site.

• Do electrical installation on new equipment on site.

• Upon sanction approval- Modify and improve existing equipment and to optimize the capacity of such equipment.

• Ensure the legal compliance of all electrical installations and equipment.

• Manage a team of electricians, assistants and apprentices.

• Diagnose and carry out repairs to faulty machinery.

• Distribute the equipment and material to allow the team to perform the assigned activities.

• Ensure the team adheres to applicable safety standards.

• Coordinate and check the work carried out by team reporting any deviations to manager.

• Plan and coordinate the daily work routines of electricians and ensure effective shift cover.

• Ensure overtime is managed effectively and kept within budget.

• Order and control of critical spare parts

Desired Experience & Qualification

Electrical Trade Test

• Minimum 10 years experience in a supervisory role.

• In possession of wiremans licence would be advantageous.

• NTC6 in electrical engineering

Thorough knowledge and understanding of electricity, electrical and electronic equipment and the tools used in the industry.

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of power, reticulation, control systems and process types of equipment ranging from 12V to 11KV.

• Ability to fault find and solve problems on industrial machinery.

• To be practically inclined and have ability to work with hands and tools.

• Ability to read and understand electrical drawings, both schematic and wiring diagrams.

• Ability to work accurately, neatly and efficiently.

• Able to fault find and perform maintenance work on transformers.

• Experience on PLC’s and Variable Speed drives.

• Knowledge on instrumentation and repairing of equipment.

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to work in dusty conditions.

• Ability to work extensive hours.

• Perform standby duties.

• Able to switch and fault find on MV switchgear.

Package & Remuneration

R 33 000.00 pm ctc

Pension Fund: 7.5% company contribution & 7.5 % employee contribution

Medical Aid: 50% company contribution up to maximum of R1000.00
