Job Overview

Active in servicing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining compressor systems, either in house, or in the field on service assignments. Further be responsible for building, installing, commissioning and testing complete compressor setups on site. Job tasks may include mechanical as well as electrical assignments in regards to compressor systems and their appliances. The scope also includes assisting in custom build applications.

Requirements
• Essential diagnostic and problem-solving skills to find the cause of a fault and patience to trace it.
• Excellent customer service skills to deal with clients who may be stressed and unhappy about malfunctioning equipment.
• Take a responsible attitude towards their work, have good organizational skills and be able to work quickly and under pressure without supervision.
• They should be able to understand technical diagrams and manuals as well as an awareness of electrical, mechanical and chemical health and safety issues.
• Keep management up to date with required performance levels
Roles and Responsibilities
• Ability to carry out servicing, fault finding and repairs, including electrical installation up to the customers isolator on all compressed air products.
• Ability to do small machining jobs, welding brazing, soldering and spray painting.
• Carry out installations, and piping jobs, commissioning, instruction and hand over to the customer.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
• Service reports for each machine worked on for the purpose of keeping good records of jobs done, additional quotes to be done and comments for future maintenance.
• Increase the value of the service call by seeking to apply additional service or parts where possible.
• Report any prospective sale for new equipment to sales department.

• Improve performance through coaching, training and support where there are weaknesses.
• Identify team members with potential and assist with their personal development. Advise and make recommendations to Management.
Customer Service
• Ensure that all personnel working within own areas of responsibility are aware of customer requirements and expectations.
• Communicate problems (actual & anticipated) to management.
• Be prepared to carry out any special request and to discuss any alternative solutions.
• Appropriate dress code and presentable appearance is required.
Flexibility & Mobility
• Be prepared to undertake as required individually or as part of a team, any task within the areas of responsibility.
• Remain flexible and alert within the areas of responsibility.
• Where required ensure that work force is also flexible enough to assist.
• Attend ad hoc meetings relevant to position.
• Willing to work standby and overtime when needed.
Training
• Actively participate in all training necessary for self/team members in order to achieve improved area of performance.
• Such training to include personal development and developments in new technology.
