Warehouse Worker (Fixed Term Contract)

Minimum Requirements and Skills:

· 3 - 5 years’ experience within a warehouse environment

· NQF level 4 (NQF level 6 is preferred)

· Experience in the motor industry/after-market parts environment

· NQF level 4 or higher

· Motor Industry and parts knowledge

· Stock / inventory processes knowledge

· Knowledge of the warehouse equipment and ability to operate it

· Product knowledge

· Knowledge of health and safety regulations

· Knowledge of the warehouse equipment, specifically reach truck operating procedures and regulations

· Advanced numerical skills

· Advanced English writing and verbal skills

· Ability to plan and organize

Job Specification

Performing the warehouse worker duties.

· Perform warehouse workers’ duties as required within any area of the CDC.

· Performing any other tasks which might be required within the CDC.

· Inventory handling rules are always complied with.

· The work is performed in a manner which minimizes the stock losses and stock damages.

· Ensure that the equipment used by the employee and the area within which employees perform the duties is always clean and tidy.

· Comply with all health and safety regulations while performing the duties.

· Follow the prescribed plans and instructions so the effectiveness of the function can be maximized. Do not result in any delays in any of the CDC processes due to tardiness and/or lack of care and attention.

· Coordinate work with other employees within the area of responsibility, including but not limited to other operators, Zone controllers, Supervisors, Managers and warehouse workers.

· Execute stock and pallets move with the required degree of accuracy and care. Do not leave untidy bins and/or do not result in inventory being misplaced and disorganized.

· Remove all the empty packaging and wrapping which might be discovered during the work performed.

· Ensure accurate execution of all inventory operations so the maximum inventory accuracy is always achieved.

· Do not leave warehouse equipment unattended.

· Execute work at the required speed and achieve the required efficiency KPIs.

Inventory oversight, inspections and controlling within the area of responsibility.

· Ensure stock accuracy and accurate stock handling at all times.

· Ensure that the stock is handled and arranged on the floor in line with the stock handling rules and in a manner which minimizes the stock damage and stock losses.

· Accurate and efficient stock labelling and packaging/repackaging (if required).

· Ensure Inventory discrepancies and queries are escalated for resolution timeously.

· Execute stock counts and stock verification tasks within the area of responsibility if required.

· Execute the root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies if required.

· Overseeing the inventory guarding and security rules within the area of responsibility.

Maintaining the required discipline and work effectiveness standards.

· Arriving to the workstation on or before the commencement of the shift

· Leaving the workstation on or after the completion of the shift.

· Respecting the break time with no abuse or lack of care instances recorder and/or identified.

· Maintaining a respectful attitude towards colleagues and managers.

· Following all reasonable instructions and executing them efficiently without resulting delays in the processes.
