GTAW/SMAW Welder

As per the Department of Labor and Employment, the daily minimum wage for welders in the National Capital Region is PHP 645 as of Wage Order NCR-25 effective January 2026, with an additional PHP 50 night shift differential for work between 10 PM and 6 AM. Overtime pay must be at least 125% of the regular rate for hours beyond eight per day.

As per TESDA guidelines, applicants need a National Certificate II in Shielded Metal Arc Welding or Gas Metal Arc Welding plus at least 300 hours of documented on-the-job training completed before June 2026. No formal college degree is mandatory but completion of secondary education with math and technical drawing subjects is required for NC II assessment.

As per DOLE PESO procedures, submit a valid NC II certificate, NBI clearance issued within the last six months, birth certificate from PSA, and medical certificate from a DOLE-accredited clinic dated no earlier than March 2026. A barangay clearance and passport-size photos taken within 30 days are also mandatory for the employment contract registration.

As per DOLE rules, welders work a maximum of 48 hours per week with at least one rest day, and are entitled to five days of service incentive leave after one year of service plus 105 days of maternity leave or seven days of paternity leave as applicable in 2026. SSS sickness benefits cover up to 120 days of paid leave annually upon contribution compliance.
