Apprenticeship Program Overview:
Gain practical, hands-on experience in welding techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals. Learn to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications. Develop proficiency in various welding processes, including but not limited to MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Arc (SMAW). Understand and apply safety procedures and regulations relevant to welding and workshop environments. Participate in on-the-job training and potentially formal technical college courses as part of the program. Assist in the preparation of metal surfaces for welding, including grinding and cleaning. Learn to set up and operate welding equipment safely and effectively. Contribute to the fabrication of structural steel components for various construction projects. Completed Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent, with a strong foundation in Mathematics and Physical Science. A genuine interest in pursuing a career as a qualified Welder. Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor. Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Willingness to travel to different sites if required.
